Bayberry Gardens is a family-owned, open-air plant nursery on Route 6 in Truro, stocking perennials, annuals, trees, shrubs, native plants, vegetables and herbs. Unusual and hard-to-find varieties are its specialty, alongside the hardy plants that stand up to Outer Cape growing conditions. The big barn-style store carries seeds, tools and soils, and in early October the yard was full of mums and pumpkins. It has served Outer Cape gardeners since 1977.
Ben & Bill's Chocolate Emporium is a candy and ice cream shop at 209 Main Street in Falmouth. In their own words, they're "famous for our homemade ice cream made on premises and our giant collection of handcrafted chocolates and candies." The cases run from caramels, truffles, turtles, fudge and buttercrunch to salt water taffy, jelly beans and Swedish candy, with sugar-free and vegan chocolates too. Their signature lobster ice cream is a seasonal novelty (call to check it's on), and they make custom ice cream cakes and pies to order. Blast From The Past is a nostalgia-packed shop on Falmouth's downtown Main Street stacked with retro collectibles, vintage vinyl records, classic memorabilia, and one-of-a-kind finds that reward patient browsers. Run by Kevin and Beth Juaire, it's a perfect rainy-day detour when you're strolling the village.
Board Stiff is a surf, skate, and sunglass shop on historic Main Street in downtown Falmouth, about 10 minutes from the Woods Hole ferry. It carries surf gear, skate accessories, watches, apparel, and footwear for "the sun, sand, surf, and street," and stocks only licensed, name-brand gear. Sunglasses are a specialty. The shop keeps over 1,000 pairs in store, from brands like Maui Jim, Costa, Ray-Ban, and Oliver Peoples, and has sold sunglasses on Cape Cod since the 1980s. The kitchen serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner to go or on the porch: hand-tossed pizza, sandwiches on Pain D'Avignon bread, and organic coffee.
