What the Cape Cod Baseball League Actually Is
The Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) is the most prestigious collegiate summer baseball league in the United States. Every summer, the top amateur players in the country come to Cape Cod to play under wooden bats, live with local host families, and sharpen the skills that will carry them toward professional careers.
Roughly one in six current MLB players is a Cape Cod Baseball League alumnus — more than 1,600 CCBL players have reached the major leagues all-time. The league has been producing major-league talent since 1885. Players do not get paid. Games run from mid-June through early August. Every game is free to attend.
