Highland Light (Cape Cod Light) is the Cape's oldest and tallest lighthouse, shining since 1797 from the high Truro bluffs above the Atlantic within the Cape Cod National Seashore. A short, easy walk from parking reaches the tower — climb it on seasonal tours for a 360° view — with the Highland House Museum and Highland Links golf course right next door.

Easy · 1.5 mi · Natural trail

Moderate · 1.3 mi · Natural trail
A rolling network of NPS trails through the Pamet River valley dunes, with a fair amount of up-and-down. Highlights include the panoramic Atlantic and Pamet Valley view from the east summit of Bearberry Hill and an old cranberry bog with the distinctive 'Bog House,' whose front door sits on the second floor. Spurs connect deeper into the Seashore.
BeachOcean / Atlantic
Ballston Beach is Truro's southernmost ocean-side beach, reached via the scenic South Pamet Road corridor that winds through a low wooded valley — one of the quieter routes to the Atlantic on the Outer Cape. The east-facing beach is wide and relatively uncrowded, with powerful Atlantic surf and the kind of raw, natural shoreline that makes this stretch of the National Seashore feel genuinely remote. A go-to for surfers and those looking to escape the more trafficked beaches to the north.
