Abiyoyo is the periwinkle-blue shop with yellow and purple trim on Main Street in Wellfleet center, and you can't miss it. Inside are clothing, gifts, toys, games and puzzles, many with a Cape Cod theme, with something for every age. The door decals name brands like Jellycat, Bruder and Teva. The side door points you around the corner to the main entrance up the brick steps.
AIM Thrift Shop sits in a shingled storefront at 305 Main Street, with a blue ship-trimmed sign and bay windows full of handbags, shoes and housewares. It is run by Volunteers for AIM Thrift Shop Inc., and its own site describes the shop as a major supporter of Outer Cape Health Services, which named its A.I.M. Center recovery program building in Wellfleet in recognition of the shop's giving. Stop in while you are walking the town center; the stock turns over with what the community donates.
LAHA at the Barn sells handmade fine jewelry, accessories, apparel and art from a weathered shingled barn with blue trim, set back from Main Street at 326 Main. Look for the oval wooden LAHA sign at the sidewalk, then follow the gravel drive to the barn doors. On the way in you pass 'Harvesting,' a painted panel by Abraham Storer that is part of the Wellfleet Oyster Alliance's art installations. If you see a piece you want after you've left, the shop takes orders by Instagram message.
Laxmi is a women's clothing boutique on Main Street in Wellfleet center, a few doors from the Preservation Hall. One bright corner of the shop is a wall of colorful handbags above low shelves of wallets and clutches, with racks of clothing just beyond. It's a good stop for a bag or an outfit while you walk the galleries and shops of downtown Wellfleet.
Marconi's Beach Outfitters is the big navy-blue shop on Route 6 in Wellfleet that bills itself as "Cape Cod's Largest Beach and Outdoor Store." It's a one-stop stock-up before the Outer Cape beaches: umbrellas and shade shelters, beach chairs and bags, pool floats, and beach games, alongside apparel, sunglasses, souvenirs and fudge. The family-run store was founded in Wellfleet in 2007 by James and Lori Baptist, with their son Kyle and his wife Helen now part of the team. You can also shop online and pick up in store on your way to the sand.
Moby's Cargo is the gift shop right next door to Moby Dick's Restaurant on Route 6. Its sign reads 'This and That… From Here and There'. Lobster traps, a whale carving, a painted mermaid and a 'Moby's Cape Cod' strongman cutout line the front of the shop. It's an easy browse while you wait for a table or walk off a lobster roll, and it's lit up and open into the evening.
Sailor is a jewelry and lifestyle shop on Main Street, edited by jewelry designer Sarah McGuire, who has spent summers in Wellfleet since she was a child. It carries work from more than 30 independent jewelry designers, including engagement and wedding pieces, along with a changing mix of ceramics, artwork, accessories and niche fragrance. The original Sailor is in Chicago; this Wellfleet shop opened in 2023 and runs from May through October. Look for the crisp white storefront with black-framed windows and benches out front.
The Beachcomber Store is the Route 6 shop of the Wellfleet Beachcomber, the bar and restaurant in a former U.S. Lifesaving Station overlooking the Atlantic. It's a small blue-shingled cottage in the South Wellfleet plaza, with an oval wave sign on the roof and 'T-shirts · Gifts · Beachwear' painted on the windows. Inside are Comber-branded tees, hoodies and sweats, hats, kids' clothing and gear. Per the shop, you can try things on here, which you can't at the stand at the restaurant, and exchange merchandise between the two.
Wellfleet Marketplace is the white storefront with red-and-white striped awnings in the middle of Wellfleet center. It's a family-owned grocery, general store, deli, gift shop and wine and beer shop rolled into one. The deli counter does hand-lettered chalkboard sandwiches and Boar's Head meats sliced to order. The aisles cover groceries, produce, meat, books and Wellfleet sweatshirts, and the store stays open year-round.
Look for the red-and-white lighthouse on the roof of the navy shop on Main Street. That's Ragg Time Ltd., whose hanging sign also reads Wellfleet Oyster Clothing. It sells casual, comfortable women's clothing and is home of the original Wellfleet Oyster apparel for men, women and children. Inside, under old timber beams and a skylight, cubbies are stacked with oyster-logo tees and sweatshirts in every color. Shelves of caps and Wellfleet beach-name shirts make easy souvenirs.
