A Nice Cream Stop is the Wellfleet scoop shop of Emack & Bolio's Cape Cod, set in a white clapboard cottage with red awnings on Main Street beside Winslow's Tavern. A hand-painted flavor board on the side of the building lists the day's ice creams next to chalkboards for sundaes, frappes, smoothies and hand-packed pints and quarts. Out back, a brick patio with tables and umbrellas gives you somewhere to sit with your cone. It is cash only, with an ATM on site.

Bagel Hound is a small red-shingled bagel shop on Route 6 in Wellfleet, easy to spot by the basset-hound sign promising "bagels and schmear." Their bagels are kettle-boiled and baked fresh daily, aiming for a crisp golden crust and a soft, chewy interior, and the lineup runs from bagels and house-made schmears to bagel sandwiches, toasts and bialys. You can grab a half dozen or dozen to go, order online ahead, or line up for a made-to-order sandwich on a Thursday-to-Sunday morning. Bagel platters with spreads are available for gatherings with advance online ordering.
Billingsgate Market is the Route 6 stop in South Wellfleet for coffee, breakfast sandwiches and lobster rolls — plus a full deli, beer and wine, and provisions for the cottage. Breakfast runs from The Traditional to The Fleetian (eggs and linguiça on a grilled brioche roll) and avocado toast on sourdough; lunch brings subs and a turkey club, with deli meats, cheeses and salads sold by the pound. The lobster rolls come cold or hot. Grab a table in the bright café, browse the wine and local gifts, and you're a short walk from the Wellfleet Drive-In.
Bob's Sub & Cone is a South Wellfleet family restaurant on Route 6 near Marconi Beach, just off the Cape Cod Rail Trail — the place for what they call "great American comfort food." The menu runs from specialty subs and pizza (including lobster and gluten-free) to fresh local seafood broiled, baked or fried, plus scampi, chicken parm and other full dinners. Save room for the ice cream: soft serve, hard ice cream, sundaes, shakes and freezes. Eat inside, out on the patio, or take it to go; there's a full bar with beer, wine and cocktails.
C-Shore Kitchen + Bar serves casual New American food built on fresh local seafood with a seasonal twist — in their words, "city chic meets flip flops." The oven-baked pizza is a local favorite, and the Chef's Whim appetizer changes every day. Local draft beer and house cocktails come out to one of Wellfleet's most spacious outdoor dining areas, a stone patio with a fire pit, plus a bright dining room inside. Reservations through Tock are appreciated but not required.
Chez Chloe Bistro is chef Philippe Rispoli's French restaurant on Lecount Hollow Road in South Wellfleet, in the space that was his PB Boulangerie Bistro. He named it for his daughter. Dinner is a three-course prix fixe of classic French cooking, with dishes like duck aux poivres, lobster gratin and Quenelle de Lyon reported by the Boston Globe. Look for the Eiffel Tower sign out by the road, the red South Wellfleet street clock, and a brick patio with colorful chairs beside the red cottage. Reservations are required.
Harrigan's Café is the breakfast spot at Wilder Inn South Wellfleet (formerly the Wellfleet Motel & Lodge) on Route 6 — homemade corned beef hash, real buttermilk and fresh blueberry pancakes, and a Benedict lineup that includes the Beachcomber and the Irish Benedict. Grab a coffee and a cinnamon roll, or settle in with an omelette and a mimosa in the bright dining room or out on the patio. Breakfast only, and open to everyone — not just hotel guests. Heads up: Harrigan's is closed this winter (2026–27) for renovations and reopens in 2027 as a year-round café — check harriganscafe.com before you go.
Hatch's is the fish and produce market at the back of the town hall parking lot in Wellfleet center, in a building Cliff Hatch put up in 1954. The fish side carries local fish, lobsters and shellfish, including Wellfleet oysters, plus smoked fish and chowder base. Out front, the produce stand has local vegetables, herbs, salad greens and corn, along with bread, honey, eggs and cheese. It's a summer-season stop, so plan your clambake around its months.
Lobster & Chowder House is a white-brick seafood stop on Route 6 in South Wellfleet with a simple promise: "FAST. Fresh. Seafood." It's the Wellfleet offshoot of Provincetown's Lobster Pot, serving classic dishes inspired by the original restaurant and the Lobster Pot Express. Order at the window, online, or call ahead, then eat at the red picnic tables out front or on the covered patio, which has a full bar, string lights and live entertainment through the season. Chowders, lobster rolls, fried plates and tacos fill the menu board, and everything is available to go.
Moby Dick's is a Route 6 seafood stop where you order at the counter under a ceiling hung with a carved lobster and a whale, with hand-chalked boards listing specials like the jumbo lobster roll and calamari. The restaurant lets you bring your own beer and wine, and says it supplies ice buckets, cups and openers at no charge. You can eat in the screened dining room or out at the picnic tables in the pine-shaded yard, which glows with string lights at dusk. Its gift shop, Moby's Cargo, is right next door.
Pizza Spinello is a family-run, take-out-only shop that makes Roman-style pan pizza by the tray, downstairs at 317B Main Street below Ragg Time. The dough ferments for at least 48 hours and uses a custom blend of King Arthur flours, topped with imported Italian ingredients and extra virgin olive oil. Order ahead online and choose a pickup time; they don't take phone orders. To find it, look for the hand-lettered blue sign over the side alley and follow it down to the blue door.
PJ's Family Restaurant has been a family-owned seafood stop on Route 6 in Wellfleet since 1971, run by the Reeves family. The menu is fresh local seafood and longtime local favorites, with an ice cream window out front for afterward. Order online or by phone for takeout, or eat at PJ's — the seating is saved for guests who order on site. It's seasonal: the Wellfleet restaurant is open Thursday to Monday, 11:30am–8pm, and closes for the season on Monday, October 12.
The Block & Tackle is a barbecue tavern on Route 6 in Wellfleet, open year-round for lunch and dinner. Order off the chalkboard, grab a picnic table in the fenced-in yard, and settle in with a cold beer — an easy, laid-back stop any time of year. Check their site for trivia nights and other events.
The Blue Willow is a small blue-shingled bakery and cafe on Route 6 in South Wellfleet, easy to spot by its round willow-tree sign and the row of wooden Adirondack chairs out front. Inside, the pastry case holds croissants, baguettes, cookies, bars and little custard donuts, with self-serve coffee urns along the wall. The kitchen turns out breakfast in the morning and lunch in the afternoon, and pastry and beverages are available all day. Out back, picnic tables sit under orange umbrellas, and you can order ahead online for pickup.
Van Rensselaer's is a sit-down restaurant and raw bar on Route 6 in South Wellfleet, right across from the turnoff to Marconi Beach and the National Seashore headquarters. The raw bar leads with local Billingsgate oysters and littlenecks, and the dinner menu runs from New England clam chowder ("a house specialty") and lobster cakes to local lobsters, a nightly catch from Chef Derek, and land dishes like prime rib. Their roadside sign sums it up as "Fresh • Local • Land • Sea," with salads and plenty of vegan and gluten-free choices marked on the menu. Dinner starts at 4pm, there's an early appy hour, and Sunday mornings bring breakfast.
Wellfleet Dairy Bar & Mini Golf sits at the Wellfleet Drive-In: soft serve and hard-packed ice cream, hand-mixed shakes, Razzles and sundaes, plus a retro 18-hole mini golf course — look for the big blue whale. It's a seasonal spot, open June through Labor Day, and the perfect stop before a movie at the drive-in.
Winslow's Tavern calls itself casually elegant dining, and it fits: a white house on Main Street with navy-blue dining rooms, wide pine floors and wine bottles racked along the ceiling beams. You can sit indoors, upstairs, or out on the brick patio under the trees and string lights. The menu out front leads with an oyster and raw bar, and on a fall evening the oysters came on ice with warm bread and mint-topped cocktails. Seating is first come, first served, and the tavern asks larger groups to reserve.
