"Live, Love, Laugh....and plant many gardens" is more than a tagline at Attaquin Acres, the family-run Mashpee garden center where every flower is hand-planted and cultivated with love. Lush geraniums are the specialty, alongside vibrant petunias and the exclusive "Black Mamba" variety you won't find anywhere else. Open seasonally May through July, seven days a week, this is where Cape Cod's flower family comes to dig in.
A Cape Cod-style house on Bound Brook Island that the National Park Service dates to about 1730, kept by Cape Cod National Seashore together with the barn, guesthouse and other outbuildings George Higgins added after he inherited the homestead in 1920. Higgins spent four decades restoring it and donated the property to the National Park Service in 1961. Only the main house is open to the public, on tours that run from late spring through early fall, and an interpretive sign by the lawn explains the complex. The way in is along narrow Wellfleet back roads, so give yourself extra time.

Bagel Hound is a small red-shingled bagel shop on Route 6 in Wellfleet, easy to spot by the basset-hound sign promising "bagels and schmear." Their bagels are kettle-boiled and baked fresh daily, aiming for a crisp golden crust and a soft, chewy interior, and the lineup runs from bagels and house-made schmears to bagel sandwiches, toasts and bialys. You can grab a half dozen or dozen to go, order online ahead, or line up for a made-to-order sandwich on a Thursday-to-Sunday morning. Bagel platters with spreads are available for gatherings with advance online ordering.
Bagels & Beyond is a breakfast and lunch bagel shop at 311 Route 28 in West Yarmouth, with a newer sister shop on Main Street in Hyannis. The bagels are made fresh each morning in a long list of flavors, from everything and asiago to cranberry and jalapeño cheddar, and topped with house-made cream cheese. The menu adds breakfast sandwiches, burritos, lox sandwiches, and muffins and pastries baked in house, with sandwiches at lunch. They also do bagel brunch platters and catering. Bayberry Gardens is a family-owned, open-air plant nursery on Route 6 in Truro, stocking perennials, annuals, trees, shrubs, native plants, vegetables and herbs. Unusual and hard-to-find varieties are its specialty, alongside the hardy plants that stand up to Outer Cape growing conditions. The big barn-style store carries seeds, tools and soils, and in early October the yard was full of mums and pumpkins. It has served Outer Cape gardeners since 1977.

Beetlebung Farm is a historic market garden of more than six acres in the heart of Chilmark town center on Martha's Vineyard. Four generations of the Fischer family farmed the land from 1961 through 2018, and its current stewards are turning it into a four-season regenerative farm. The fields grow vegetables, herbs, flowers and berries, with fruit trees, a small apiary and a young food forest. A nineteenth-century barn holds the year-round farmstand, a kitchen whose grab-and-go menu changes day to day with the harvest, and a stone mill and bakery making slow-fermented sourdough from freshly milled Northeast grain. In their own words, they're "famous for our homemade ice cream made on premises and our giant collection of handcrafted chocolates and candies."
